Except for the fact that the guests are both male and female, the couples shower is the same as the wedding shower and the baby shower. Now with the evolving role of the men and women in our society and the changing family structure, the traditional bridal shower has also evolved. And so we now have the couples shower. Also, the responsibilities and the role in the family is now being shared by the couples. The usual gifts for the bridal shower are no longer really just for the women.
Now since the couples shower is for both the female and the male, the themes are also different from the traditional bridal shower. For example, the lingerie theme bridal shower is now quite inappropriate. The male and the female guests would then be uncomfortable with this party. Thus it is quite important to choose the theme that would be applicable for both sexes. The host must also consider the games when choosing the theme. Then if the party will be something like a night out in the town, then one must also consider the right places for such event.
Needless to say, the invitation is something that must be for the male and for the female. Even though the male are invited they might feel out of place if the invitation is a traditional bridal shower invitation. Also, the host must make sure that the groom receives the same attention as the bride. As for the party, it should be interesting to the males and the groom as well. The first thing that can really make them interested with the party of course is the invitation. The right couples shower invitation for the couples should be the ones used by the host. The couples shower invitation should be interesting for the female as well as the males.
